How long will my home generator installation take?

Permit timing depends on your city or county. The install itself is usually one day. Every city and county around Houston has different requirements when it comes to generator installations. After my home loses power, when will my generator start running?

After your generator senses a problem, your power will transfer 5-10 seconds after the generator is fully up and running. During this transfer process, you can expect your power will be off for a total of 5-15 seconds total. Your generator will be up and running and generating electricity in your home until normal utility power returns.
