Generac Prestige DealerGenerac's highest dealer designation. We sell, install and service Generac home standby generators.
Generac generators$2,000 off a generator install. While supplies last.
It only comes off the units on our floor, so when they're gone, it's gone. New air-cooled Generac installs come with a free 10-year warranty, and financing is there if you want it. Permit timing depends on your city or county. The install itself is usually one day.
Which one is yours?
We sell every one of these. Some are on the showroom floor with the portables, so you can see one before you buy. The 10 through 28 are air-cooled Guardians. Generac rates them on propane first; the second number is what you get on natural gas, which is what most houses here run on. Tap through the estimate and we'll match you to one.
Townhouse or a smaller home, essentials covered: fridge, lights, Wi-Fi, one AC.
The starter. Keeps the fridge cold, the lights on, and one AC running when the block goes dark.
Enough for most 2,000 to 2,500 sq ft homes to feel normal: essentials plus a second AC.
The one we install most. Whole-home for a standard 2,500 to 3,500 sq ft house.
Whole-home with a bigger AC load or a pool pump. Nobody on your street knows the power is out.
Larger homes. 3,500 to 4,500 sq ft, two big AC units, both running.
The biggest air-cooled unit Generac makes. Big house, multiple ACs, EV charging. If you don't want to think about it, this is it.
Big house, quieter engine, built for the long haul. Also a common pick for small offices.
Estates, small restaurants, dental offices. Runs cooler and quieter, built for the long haul.
Liquid-cooled power for large estates, multi-AC, elevators, well pumps. 6,000 sq ft territory.
Bigger house than that? The Protector line keeps going: 40, 48, 60 and 80kW, single-phase, and we sell those for homes too. On three-phase service, there's a 20kW Guardian. Every model number is on the inventory page.

Not ready for a standby? Portables, done the safe way.
Eighteen DuroMax portables, inverters and open-frame, are in stock next to the standbys. See every one, with photos and what it runs.
- Come see them. Pick one up at the showroom, or ask us which one covers what you actually need to run.
- A manual transfer switch, installed by us, is the safe, legal way to run a house off a portable. No cords through the window, no suicide cords.
- When you are ready for a standby, the estimate takes two minutes and the $2,000 still comes off.
You don't touch anything.
- Senses the outage and starts itself in about ten seconds. Transfers the house automatically, then hands it back when CenterPoint returns.
- Runs on the gas line already at the house. No refueling, no gas cans, no cords through a window.
- Tests itself every week for a few minutes so it's ready when it counts.
- Texts you through the Mobile Link app when it runs, when it starts during an outage, and when it needs service.
- Comes with the automatic transfer switch. We handle the gas line, the pad, the permit, the CenterPoint coordination, and the walkthrough.
Free visit, permit, one day, lights back in ten seconds.
- Free sizing visit. We count your circuits, check your gas meter, and pick the unit with you. No guessing.
- Permit. We pull it. About a week in Harris County.
- Install day. Pad, unit, gas line, transfer switch, startup. Usually one day.
- The transfer test. We throw the main with you standing there. Lights back in about ten seconds.
- Walkthrough. Mobile Link on your phone, the weekly test explained, our number on the unit.
Want a head start? Size it online first.
Two minutes of questions about your house, and you get the recommended unit and what it covers. A specialist still comes out to verify before anything is final.
- What it asks: square footage, how many AC units, what runs on gas, and what you want on during an outage.
- What you get: the recommended Generac size, what it covers, and what we check at the visit.
- What it is not: a price. The written quote comes from a specialist after the visit.
Passed the weekly test. Failed the outage.
The battery is the part that fails first, and it'll pass the self-test right up until the night it doesn't.

Generac generator, standby generator and Kohler questions
Wired is a Generac Prestige Dealer, the highest tier, with units in stock.
Generac generator
Home standby units from 10 to 32 kW and commercial units to 150 kW. See every model in stock.
Standby generator
It runs on natural gas or propane and starts by itself, whether you are home or not.
Kohler generator
We service all brands, Kohler included. If you are comparing, call and we will talk it through plainly.
Ask us anything. These come up most.
What size do I need?
Most houses around Houston land between 14 and 32kW. A 10 covers the essentials in a smaller place. A 22 runs most homes. Add a pool, an EV charger, or a third AC and you're looking at a 26 or a 32. A free sizing visit gives you the number: we come out and check your panel and gas meter before anything's final.
How long does it take?
Permit timing depends on your city or county. The install itself is usually one day. The week a storm gets named, the calendar fills fast.
What does it run on?
The natural gas line already at your house. No refueling, no gas cans, no cords through a window. On propane, your supplier runs the tank to the generator and we do the rest.
Do you service generators you didn't install?
Yes, any brand: Generac, Kohler, Briggs & Stratton, Cummins. The storm-season tune-up is oil, filters, a battery load test, and a full transfer-switch test, with a written report.
Is it loud?
About as loud as a central AC unit running, and it sits where the AC sits. Liquid-cooled units are quieter still.
How Does A Home Backup Generator Work?
What to expect when you lose power When problems occur, our home backup generators sense the power outage, turn on automatically, and immediately begin delivering backup power to your home. Your machine will run until utility power returns – whether that’s two hours or two weeks. These are the basic steps: 1. Utility Power Is Lost – Perhaps it’s a storm. Maybe it’s equipment failure. In any case, the electricity you depend on is suddenly gone. 2. Your Generator Senses A Problem – Within moments, your generator prepares to restore your home’s power. 3. The Generator Turns On Automatically – Whether You’re Home Or Away
Within a few seconds, it is up to speed and generating electricity. 4. Your Electricity Is Restored – The automatic transfer switch sends generator power to your home. It will continue generating this power until normal utility power returns. Call us before any major storm or expected power outage to perform maintenance and to make sure that your unit is running and transferring properly. Ensure that you have a MobileLink device installed so whether you are home or away, you will be able to monitor your generator 24/7.

Words you will hear from us, explained.
We try not to talk like electricians. When one of these slips out, this is what it means.
- Standby generator
- The permanent generator that sits beside the house or building, runs on your gas line, and turns itself on when the power goes out. Different from a portable you roll out and fill with gasoline.
- Transfer switch
- The box next to your breaker panel that moves the house or building from the power company to the generator by itself, and back again when the power returns. You never touch it.
- kW (kilowatts)
- How much the generator can power at once. Bigger number, more of the house. Most homes land between 14 and 28.
- Whole-home vs essential circuits
- Whole-home means everything comes back on. Essential circuits means only the things you picked: fridge, AC, lights, garage door, medical equipment.
- Load management
- A small add-on that takes turns starting the air conditioners and big appliances so a smaller generator can run a bigger house without stalling.
- Load calculation
- The free visit where we add up what your house or building draws, look at your breaker panel and your gas meter, and tell you which size fits. Nothing is final until this happens.
- Air-cooled vs liquid-cooled
- Air-cooled units (10 to 28 kW) cool themselves like a lawn mower and cover almost every home. Liquid-cooled units (25 kW and up) have a radiator like a car and cover very large homes and businesses.
- Natural gas vs propane
- Natural gas comes through the meter and does not need refilling. Propane comes from a tank in the yard that your propane company fills. The same generator runs on either.
- Single-phase vs three-phase
- Two kinds of electrical service. Houses are single-phase. Most commercial buildings are three-phase. The generator has to match, and we check which one you have.
- Remote monitoring (Mobile Link)
- The generator reports to an app on your phone, and to us if you are on a Shield plan: it ran its weekly test, it started during an outage, it needs service.
- Weekly exercise
- The generator starts itself for a few minutes once a week to stay ready, the way you would start a car that sits.
See your number before anyone calls you.
About two minutes. A real unit in stock, a written estimate, and the $2,000 comes off.
