Generac 80kW Protector Standby Generator
Eighty kilowatts. Bigger facilities.
The top of the Protector line we stock. Liquid-cooled, single-phase or 208/240/480 three-phase. Bigger facilities, multi-tenant buildings, larger clinics.
Financing through Synchrony and others. How that works →

Generac Prestige DealerGenerac's highest dealer designation. We sell, install and service Generac home standby generators.
Generac generatorsWhat an 80kW runs. Buildings, not houses.
Three-phase commercial and light industrial loads: refrigeration, rooftop HVAC, pumps, kitchens, offices. Sized from a load study, not a square-footage table.
- Walk-in coolers and freezers
- Rooftop HVAC and make-up air
- Lift-station, well and fire pumps
- Commercial kitchens and registers
- Server rooms, security, egress lighting
Typical commercial loads. A load study on site decides the size. Request a free site visit and we measure what has to stay on.
For the facility that needs real power, on gas.
Eighty kilowatts of natural-gas standby without the diesel tank and the delivery schedule.
Multi-tenant, larger clinic, bigger facility.
HVAC, elevators, lighting, equipment, refrigeration, offices.
Senses the outage, starts itself, switches the building over. Hands it back when CenterPoint returns.
- Pick it if: the load runs around 80 and you want gas, not diesel.
- Step up if: grocery, cold storage, a campus. The 100, 130 and 150 are next.
Not sure? Five taps on the calculator gets you a size, or call and we'll size it on the phone.
In plain English.
Generac's spec sheet has a lot of words on it. This is what they mean for you.
It turns itself on.
Power goes out, it senses it, starts, and switches everything over in about ten seconds. Power comes back, it hands it back. Nobody has to be there.
A car-style engine, built to run for days.
Liquid-cooled, like the engine in your truck. It runs cooler, quieter, and longer than an air-cooled unit, which is why this is what goes in when the load is big or the outage might be long.
Quieter than the size suggests.
A sound-attenuated enclosure and a slower-turning engine. Neighbors, patients, and diners notice less than you'd think.
It runs on natural gas or propane.
The gas line you already have, or a tank. No diesel deliveries, no fuel going stale.
Single-phase or three-phase.
We match the unit to the service your building already has. You don't need to know which. We look at the meter.
You can watch it from your phone.
Mobile Link app. Cellular built in with Wi-Fi backup. Status, run history, and service alerts from anywhere, and the servicing dealer can see faults early.
Wired installs, around Houston.
Real photos of our installs around Houston and Tomball: the unit set on its pad, the transfer switch and gas line run, and the startup test before we leave. The unit in a photo may be a different size than this one.

No price tag on the website. Here's why, and how to get your number.
The unit is only part of it. The gas run, the pad, the transfer switch, and your panel change the number from one house to the next, so a price on a web page would be wrong for most people. Getting the real one is quick.
Two minutes on the phone
Tell us the size of the house and what you want to keep running. We'll tell you if the 80 is the one and what an install like yours usually involves.
